FilmApp on the computer

FilmApp runs without installation in any current browser. The project team will send you a personal project link; opening it shows the same scene overview as on the phone. The browser is used for checking and for editing released content; shooting happens with the apps and with desktop scenes.

Desktop scenes

Some projects include desktop scenes: complete computer interfaces with wallpaper, windows, browser and files for screens in the shot. In the overview they carry a monitor icon; an arrow expands their windows.

• Click the row – the desktop scene opens full screen.
• Short link – desktop scenes have short direct links that open the scene on the playback device without signing in.
• Download icon – exports the scene as a ZIP package for playback entirely without internet.

Arranging and saving windows

1. 1Open the desktop scene via the project link on the playback laptop (online).
2. 2Drag the windows into the perfect position and adjust their size with the mouse.
3. 3Tap the save button at the bottom of the taskbar – the window positions are stored for the scene and restored exactly like this on the next start.

Preparing the browser for filming

To keep browser bars out of the shot, hide the bookmarks or favourites bar first, then switch to full screen:

• Chrome – bookmarks bar: turn off ⋮ → Bookmarks and lists → Show bookmarks bar (Windows: Ctrl ⇧ B, Mac: ⌘ ⇧ B). Full screen: click the full-screen icon beside “Zoom” in the menu (Windows: F11, Mac: ⌃ ⌘ F).
• Firefox – View → Toolbars → Bookmarks Toolbar → Never Show. Full screen: ≡ → Full screen, or F11 on Windows/Linux; on Mac use View → Enter Full Screen.
• Safari (Mac) – View → Hide Favorites Bar. Then use the green window button at the top left and choose Full Screen → Entire Screen.
